Lockhart Basin

Status Unknown Moderate 5,400 ft ~40 miles dirt/sandy/rocky

Lockhart Basin is a less-traveled BLM corridor offering a quieter alternative to White Rim with its own dramatic canyon rim views. The mixed surface of dirt, sand, and rocky sections keeps drivers engaged across 40 miles of genuine desert solitude. Excellent dispersed camping spots line the route, making this a natural choice for a 2-3 day desert escape. Far fewer people than White Rim, but comparable scenery.
