Holy Cross Trail

Status Unknown Challenging 11,600 ft ~23 miles rocky/creek crossings

Holy Cross Trail traverses the White River National Forest through multiple significant creek crossings and rocky high-country terrain. The combination of water crossings and rocky shelf road makes this a technically demanding but rewarding route. At 11,600 feet it's above tree line for much of the run, delivering big alpine views. Check water levels before going — high snowmelt season makes crossings significantly more challenging.
