Dusy-Ershim Route

Status Unknown Expert 11,000 ft ~22 miles alpine/shelf road

The Dusy-Ershim Route is one of the most remote and demanding alpine overland routes in California — a high-altitude traverse connecting Dusy Basin to Ershim Pass above 11,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada. Exposed shelf road sections with significant drop-offs, boulder fields, and a short window between snowmelt and first fall snow make this a genuine expedition. The Inyo National Forest setting is breathtaking but unforgiving.
